Job Description Job Description Commercial HVAC Estimator Location: Cincinnati, Ohio Full-Time Position National TAB Intelligence is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Commercial HVAC Estimator to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key part in preparing accurate and competitive bids for commercial HVAC projects for projects and clients throughout the country. Our focus is on executing “Comfort under Control” to our clients by providing them TAB Services, commissioning, facilities evaluation, IAQ, monitoring, and product design & services that allows us to be an integral partner for their facilities from cradle to grave. Our clients include mechanical & general contractors, equipment suppliers, national chains, and other public and private institutions. Key Responsibilities: · Review daily incoming bids to determine appropriate jobs or clients for the estimating team to prepare for quotation. · Analyze blueprints, specifications, drawings, and other project documents to prepare detailed cost estimates for the Testing & Balancing, Duct leak testing, Commissioning, IAQ and other testing classifications in the commercial HVAC systems. · Collaborate with project managers, engineers, sales teams, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and ensure estimates align with project scope and client expectations. · Prepare proposals, bids, and quotes in a timely manner for specific regional divisions of the company. · Maintain and update CRM (Pipedrive) and excel databases, historical pricing, and estimating tools for accuracy and efficiency. · Actively participate in bid reviews and strategy sessions. · Proactively reach out to clients, general contractors, architects, and vendors — both verbally (phone calls, meetings) and electronically (email, follow-ups) — to clarify project details, build relationships, and secure opportunities or potential new clients to bid project(s) too. Qualifications: · 2–5 years of experience as an HVAC Estimator or in a related role within the commercial HVAC/mechanical contracting industry. · Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, equipment, installation practices, and industry standards. · Excellent communication skills — must be comfortable and confident initiating outreach to clients, contractors, and team members via phone, email, and in-person discussions. · Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel); experience with estimating software (e.g., AutoBid, QuickPen, Trimble, or similar) is a plus. · Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents. · Detail-oriented with analytical and mathematical skills for accurate cost calculations. · Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
