Job Skills / Requirements Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Armed Security Officer to protect our clients’ assets, ensure the safety of personnel, and maintain a secure environment. This role requires a strong sense of vigilance, a high level of responsibility, and adherence to all security protocols and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a background in law enforcement, military police, or corrections and must be capable of handling a firearm responsibly. Key Responsibilities: Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas, identifying potential security breaches or hazards Deter, detect, and respond to security threats or incidents promptly and professionally Control access points and monitor premises to prevent unauthorized access Provide emergency response, including de-escalation, arrest control, and restraining individuals as necessary Maintain clear and concise incident reports and documentation for all security-related incidents Engage with individuals in a courteous and professional manner to enforce rules and regulations Coordinate with local law enforcement when required Qualifications and Requirements: Experience: Background in Military Police, law enforcement, or certified corrections is required Firearms: Must have own firearm and a valid license to carry; an armed guard license is required in applicable states Training: Certified in arrest control, handcuff, and baton use Screenings: Must pass random drug testing and a psychological evaluation (MMPI exam) Physical Fitness: Capable of performing physical duties such as patrolling, responding to incidents, and managing potentially intense confrontations Compliance: Understanding of and commitment to all local, state, and federal security and firearm regulations Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed Preferred Qualifications: Must have obtained Top Security Clearance in the past 5 years Must have obtained a Security Clearance in the past 5 years Preferred Skills: Strong observational skills with a keen attention to detail Excellent communication and de-escalation abilities High level of professionalism and discretion Prior training or certification in security management, conflict resolution, or emergency response Physical Requirements: This position requires significant physical activity throughout the shift. Officers must be able to: Walk and stand for extended periods (including completing multiple rounds and patrols of up to 1–2 miles per shift) Frequently climb stairs, ramps, or ladders as required by site patrol routes Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Maintain alertness and situational awareness during all patrols Prosegur is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
