Job Description Job Description Pro Talent Group, a division of MS-IL Staffing & Packaging, and its local client are NOW HIRING a full-time Head Start Preschool Teacher in the Indianapolis, Indiana, area! Salary Range: $27.13/hr with Associates, $28.37/hr with Bachelors, $29.48/hr with Masters Shift: 1st shift Benefits: Paid Time Off Medical, dental, life, vision, etc - paid for 100% by the customer 403b - retirement plan - the customer contributes $3-4k a year. The Head Start Preschool Teacher is responsible for leading a classroom of 3-5-year-old children, collaborating with an assistant teacher, families, and other staff to support positive learning outcomes for all abilities. Education & Experience Requirements: Required: AA/AS in Early Childhood Education OR BA/BS in Early Childhood Education OR BA/BS in a related field with at least six college-level courses in ECE plus a minimum of 2 years’ preschool or kindergarten teaching experience. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Experience: RECENT Minimum 2-3 years in a preschool or kindergarten classroom setting. Additional Requirements: Ability to travel locally up to 10% for work-related functions. Key Responsibilities: Foster a positive, inclusive, and emotionally supportive environment that encourages child autonomy, cultural expression, and developmental growth. Implement engaging, multi-modal activities that support concept development, reasoning, and continuous feedback to maximize learning time. Use proactive behavior strategies with clear expectations, redirection, and classroom management aligned with Head Start standards. Ensure a safe, clean, and organized classroom through daily health checks, hygiene practices, and supervision in all environments. Deliver Head Start curriculum with fidelity through structured lesson plans, routines, and individualized instruction based on assessment data. Conduct ongoing child assessments, maintain documentation, and meet CLASS benchmarks for instructional quality and classroom interactions. Strengthen family engagement through home visits, conferences, volunteer coordination, and collaboration with family services staff. Support experiential learning through supervised field trips and outdoor activities. Participate in professional development, coaching, and self-assessment for continuous improvement. Physical Demands & Work Environment: Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed. Frequenttyping, data entry, and close visual work.
