Job Description:
Role + Responsibilities Responsible for the implementation of
productive and cost-effective welding methods at Flow and
Level+Pressure production facilities in Greenwood USA. Supports
implementation and sustainability of all processes and equipment
required for welding and weld testing of instruments.
- Develop overall welding strategy for each facility (Flow and
Level+Pressure) for manual, semi-automatic, and automatic welding
processes.
- Define/develop topics as listed below for each facility
- Coordinate/lead welding technicians in each facility to
implement welding strategy
- Manage Weld Training and Testing Center (WTTC)
- Manage WPQR & WPS creation
- Define and manage testing process and frequency
- Plan, define and assist with weld training
- Expand WTTC capabilities (equipment, training, testing)
- Assess trainees' learning performance and identify need for
additional, specialized or adaptive instruction.
- Welding Safety
- Define safety standards
- Develop auditing/monitoring process for safety topics
- Weld networks
- Participate in global weld networks and activities
- Point of contact for marketing/quality/operations for technical
weld concerns
- Weld equipment
- Specify new weld equipment
- Launch new weld processes
- Develop and document procedures/instructions for processes
- Identify ancillary equip/materials for weld processes
- Define power supply calibration program per PC procedures
- Weld process support
- Secondary contact point for daily weld issues
- Proactively identify, plan & assist with implementation of weld
process continuous improvements
- Identify potential cost savings related to weld processes
- Non-Destructive Testing
- Perform Visual inspection training, VT Level
- Assist in process development for NDT: via helium leak testing,
liquid penetrant, eddy current, hydrostatic pressure, and
radiographic testing.
- Develop, implement, and maintain welding operational standards
and ensure standards are applied consistently within each
facility
- Support company Apprenticeship Program and student internship
programs

- Specific experience requirement includes AWS or IWE Certified
Weld Engineer. Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in an engineering
field and/or 8+ years of experience as a welding engineer, or
equivalent education, training, and experience.
- Ability to define/implement overall strategy for welding and
associated processes
- Ability to explain technical material to less technically
proficient users
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to lead people indirectly, to implement strategy
- Ability to read and interpret product level drawings and
instructions.
- Knowledge of product cost calculation in manufacturing.
- Knowledge of ergonomics and practical application.
- Lean knowledge with demonstrated application in
manufacturing.
- Detailed understanding of manufacturing systems, processes, and
practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCad, Solidworks or
similar modeling software.
- Working knowledge of SAP as an Enterprise Management System or
similar system as it relates to standard routings.
- Good mathematical skills. Physical DemandsThe physical demands
