Job Description Job Description POSITION PURPOSE Troubleshoot and repair assemblies, subassemblies, products, and/or systems. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES * Educated in the theory of electronics and have the ability to apply this theory in discussion with engineers in a manufacturing environment * Interpret schematics and assembly diagrams and apply the knowledge in component level troubleshooting and repair of product. * Screws, solders, cements, press fits, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place. * Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on a printed circuit board. * Data collection as required * Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases with understanding of test procedures. Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly. QUALIFICATIONS (ELECTROTECH 1) EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Associates degree in electronics or equivalent military or industry experience. The candidate must have competency in electronics theory. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Understanding of the use of test equipment including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power meters, signal generators, etc. Competent in electronics theory. Competent through-hole and surface mount soldering ability EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Required understanding of electronics principles as pertains to troubleshooting electronics. Must be able to translate electronic schematics. SKILLS/ABILITIES: Solid communication skills and ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels. Must have solid practical skills in electronics manufacturing, schematic reading abilities, troubleshooting skills and use of common tools. __________________________________________________________________________ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: REPETITIVE MOTIONS: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. AVERAGE VISUAL ABILITIES: Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery. PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Physically active position, climbing ladder, lifting boxes (up to 30lbs), pushing carts, stooping and bending.
