Job DescriptionGreenwood Leflore Hospital Job Description & Performance Appraisal Nurse Manager Job Purpose: The Nurse Manager of ICCU is accountable and responsible twenty-four hours a day for managing and guiding all activities of the ICCU, including but not limited to, the staff, environment and patients. In addition, the Director is held accountable for functioning within the units' budget by using cost-effective methods while maintaining safe quality patient care incorporating the JC standards. This position requires the promotion of and adherence to the organization's established Compliance Program and Standards of Conduct and is accountable for the Patient Satisfaction program for the units. The Director demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements reflective to his/her age specific needs. Essential Job Qualifications: 1. Education: BSN preferred, Associated Degree in Nursing Minimum. 2. Experience: Three years post graduate progress in nursing, with demonstrated leadership behaviors. Must be able to clinically participate in all components of the nursing process specific to the unit. 3. Training: Graduate from accredited school of nursing 4. Licensure: Current registration in the State of MS as Registered Nurse Job Specific Contacts: 1. Job Reports to: (title) Associate Director of Nursing 2. Essential Physical Demands of the Job: Must be able to frequently sit, stand, and/or walk for up to 8 12 hours. Must be able to bend knees, reach, twist, crawl, and climb. Must be able to use both hands and both feet at all times. Essential Mental Demands of the Job: A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose stress Interviews and hires unit candidates. Formulates and monitors staff schedules. Implements changes to schedule, when Completes annual performance evaluations of unit staff. Develops and manages In compliance with the Hospital's progressive discipline policy, administers Oversees the orientation of new employees. Assigns preceptors and evaluates Maintains a competent staff through yearly competency programs. Provides constructive feedback to co-workers regarding professional practice Practices an assertive communication style that demonstrates trust, honesty, Establishes and maintains collegial relationship with other health care providers. Maintains departmental communications on a day to day basis for effective Recognizes areas for potential problems and develops a plan of action as indicated. Participates in the developmental of unit goals and objectives. Completes all assignments in a timely manner. on routine basis. Ability to perform as a team member, cooperates with others, follow directions precisely, demonstrate initiative, and set priorities. 4.
