This role offers an opportunity for a registered nurse with experience in progressive care to provide specialized patient care in a dynamic hospital environment. The position focuses on delivering comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to a post-cardiac catheterization patient population, with responsibilities that emphasize assessment, coordination, and treatment implementation. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct thorough initial and ongoing patient assessments, developing and executing individualized care plans. - Administer cardiac-related medications such as amiodarone, nitroglycerin, diltiazem, and milrinone safely and effectively. - Manage complex patient care involving central lines, chest tubes, TR bands, and advanced oxygen delivery methods. - Coordinate care across multiple hospital departments and serve as a key contact for patients and families. - Monitor patients for multi-system organ failure and trauma, utilizing clinical judgment to adapt care plans rapidly. - Act as a patient advocate while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams including spiritual and palliative care. Qualifications & Desired Experience: - Current RN license in good standing or covered under Nurse Licensure Compact. - Minimum of two years nursing experience, preferably with progressive care or critical care exposure. - BLS and ACLS certification required; NIH Stroke Certification and CCRN or PCCN preferred. - Experience with cardiac drips, lines, and post-cardiac cath care. - Familiarity with electronic health records (EPIC preferred) and strong clinical judgment skills. - Ability to perform under stressful conditions, maintaining professionalism and patient safety.
