Job Description:
At Lilly, we unite caring with discovery to make life better for
people around the world. We are a global healthcare leader
headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. Our employees around the
world work to discover and bring life-changing medicines to those
who need them, improve the understanding and management of disease,
and give back to our communities through philanthropy and
volunteerism. We give our best effort to our work, and we put
people first. We’re looking for people who are determined to make
life better for people around the world. Come drive the delivery of
technology that accelerates how we bring medicines to patients!
Tech@Lilly is looking for a Technical Delivery Manager to drive
cross-functional technology delivery across the Medicines
Development (Global Regulatory Affairs (GRA), Global Scientific
Communications (GSC) and Global Statistical Sciences (GSS))
portfolio. Are you energized by leading complex technical programs
at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, AI/automation,
regulatory science, and clinical development? Do you bring enough
engineering depth to challenge technical decisions while keeping
delivery on track? If so, please apply. What You’ll Be Doing As a
Technical Delivery Manager within Tech@Lilly, you will own
end-to-end delivery of technology initiatives that support
regulatory submissions, statistical computing, and clinical
development workflows. You will operate at the center of a complex
portfolio spanning AI/automation programs, cloud platform
modernization, data pipeline architecture, and regulatory
technology — coordinating across business stakeholders, product
managers, internal engineering teams, external vendors and
consulting partners, and horizontal platform organizations. You are
expected to be technically fluent: able to evaluate architecture
decisions, pressure-test engineering estimates, understand cloud
infrastructure trade-offs, and ensure that what gets built is not
only delivered on time but is technically sound, scalable, and
maintainable. How You’ll Succeed · As a Technical Delivery Manager,
you will bring hands-on technical understanding alongside
operational rigor to drive the delivery of a portfolio of
technology initiatives across the organization — ensuring projects
deliver on time, within budget, and with measurable business
impact. · Managing cross-functional delivery across business,
technology, and vendor teams — serving as the central coordination
point that keeps workstreams aligned, risks visible, dependencies
resolved, and technical decisions well-informed. You understand
enough about the underlying systems to ask the right questions and
challenge when something doesn’t add up. · Driving governance and
portfolio health — preparing and facilitating governance meetings,
maintaining portfolio dashboards, tracking budget and capacity
utilization, and ensuring leadership has the visibility needed to
make informed decisions. · Managing vendor and consulting partner
delivery — overseeing SOWs, contracts, and delivery milestones for
external partners while ensuring quality, cost discipline, and
alignment with internal technology standards. This includes
reviewing technical deliverables, validating architecture choices,
and holding vendors accountable for engineering quality — not just
timeline compliance. · Driving process improvement and engineering
excellence — continuously evaluating delivery methodologies, CI/CD
practices, development workflows, and reporting mechanisms to
improve velocity, code quality, and operational efficiency across
the portfolio. · Communicating effectively across all levels —
translating technical complexity into clear executive updates,
facilitating productive stakeholder conversations, and building
trust with business partners, platform organizations, and senior
leadership. · Coordinating across global teams — ensuring seamless
integration of delivery across geographies with clear expectations,
aligned priorities, and consistent execution standards. ·
Championing AI-assisted development practices — driving adoption of
AI coding tools across engineering teams and vendor partners to
accelerate delivery velocity, improve code quality, and multiply
developer productivity. You set the expectation that AI-augmented
development is the default, not the exception. What You Should
Bring · Experience managing complex technology delivery programs
from initiation through production deployment, with the technical
depth to understand system architecture, data flows, API design,
and infrastructure decisions — not just timelines and budgets. ·
Demonstrated ability to manage vendor and consulting partner
delivery, including SOW management, milestone tracking, performance
oversight, and technical review of deliverables and architecture
decisions. · Experience establishing and facilitating governance
forums, preparing executive-level status reporting, and driving
structured decision-making processes. · Self-motivated, proactive,
and highly organized with outstanding communication skills. Able to
translate technical complexity into clear business language for
diverse audiences. · Excellent cross-functional influencer with
experience coordinating across business, technology, and vendor
teams in a matrixed, fast-paced environment. · Working knowledge of
cloud platform technologies (AWS), AI/ML pipelines, and modern
software delivery practices (Agile, CI/CD, DevOps). You don’t need
to write the code, but you need to understand what’s being built
and why. · Experience managing budgets and financial tracking for
technology programs, including forecasting, variance analysis, and
investment justification. · Experience working across
geographically distributed teams, particularly US and India-based
delivery organizations. Your Basic Qualifications · Bachelor’s
degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or
related field · 4 or more years working in technical delivery,
software engineering, or platform engineering roles; experience
managing complex, multi-workstream technology programs with
cross-functional stakeholders Lilly is dedicated to helping
