Do: Oversee safety processes within assigned MAPR regions, ensuring
compliance with company Safety, DOT, Fleet, Environmental, and
Regulatory programs. Provide guidance and support to Regional
General Managers and Regional Service Managers regarding safety
policies, procedures, and training requirements. Manage weekly
toolbox talks, monthly required safety training, annual MSHA
training, Safety KPIs, and new employee onboarding. Lead incident,
accident, and near-miss investigations to determine root cause and
recommend corrective actions. Support DOT compliance efforts,
including daily inspections, hours reporting, and driver compliance
oversight. Coordinate DOT physical renewals and new DOT driver
physicals in partnership with HR. Maintain Driver Qualification
(DQ) files through third-party vendors, including uploading road
tests, verifying MVRs, enrolling drivers, and scheduling medical
card renewals. Review driver road tests to ensure proper training
and compliance standards are met. Conduct safety training sessions
(virtual and in-person) as needed within assigned regions.
Coordinate installation and oversight of telematics devices in
fleet vehicles. Monitor telematics alerts and safe driving
performance to ensure compliance with company standards. Track
driver compliance related to accidents, tickets, and infractions;
recommend corrective actions up to and including termination when
necessary. Maintain third-party safety monitoring platforms to
track KPIs and customer compliance requirements. Conduct Safety
Orientation for new hires and assist with enrollment in third-party
safety programs. Support environmental compliance initiatives in
coordination with the VP of Operations and Safety Manager. Perform
additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: Associate degree or
equivalent experience required. Minimum of 3 years of experience in
a safety role within an organization. At least 2 years of
experience with DOT regulations preferred. Experience with
environmental compliance and regulatory standards. Ability to
travel approximately 35% within assigned regions. Proficiency with
computers, including internet navigation, email, ERP systems, MS
Word and Excel, and other relevant software. Strong organizational
skills with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
