Title: Hay and Forage Specialist - 92253
Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position
This position will be located in Lansing, Michigan or Ft. Wayne,
Indiana per the hiring manager's discretion. This may be dependent
on the successful candidate's background, experience, and
proficiency. Your Responsibilities As a Hay and Forage Specialist
for John Deere based out of Lansing, Michigan or Ft. Wayne, Indiana
you will provide in-depth inspection of Self Propelled Forage
Harvester (SPFH), Large Square Baler (LSB) and Self Propelled
Windrower (SPW) machines and their attachments. Document issues or
concerns to be relayed to the customer, dealer and company
personnel In addition, you will:
- Train customers and dealers on performance enhancing
adjustments while in the field with the machines
- Plan a calendar of travel based on conditions, harvest schedule
and number of machines to be visited
- Provide training to owner/operators and dealer personnel on
machine operation and field optimization to drive customer
satisfaction
- Assist dealer personnel with diagnosis and repairs of machine
systems to aid in customer up-time
- Investigate and document issues and failures for root cause
analysis, as well as place and track experimental parts to provide
the best test environment and data for the source factory
- Track recommendations given to the dealers for the customer's
equipment to ensure implementation
- Provide training in a formal environment to dealers, customers
and company personnel on machine systems and performance
enhancements
- Assist dealer sales personnel with explaining and demonstrating
product to prospective customers
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 75%

- Knowledge of dealer technical and product support
competencies
- Knowledge of customer support processes
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to
75%
- Ability to work unstructured hours based on harvest
conditions
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal day-to-day
direction to achieve strategic customer support goals on your
territory
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Outlook,
PowerPoint, and Excel
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude What Makes You Stand Out
- Technical knowledge of hay and forage products and
attachments
- Powertrain, hydraulic and electrical systems diagnosis
skills
- Field experience dealing with customers and/or dealers in a
technical environment
- Effective conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Formal presentation and public speaking skills
- Knowledge of root cause analysis, FMEA, Product Verification
processes, and/or Non-conforming corrective actions (NCCA)
- Knowledge of the DTAC (Dealer Technical Assistance Center)
system Education Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent
related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Agricultural
