Systems Consultant

As a Systems Consultant for WBS, you will assist in the assessment of companies' information technology systems, including their hardware, software and networks, to recommend systems, software or tools to help them meet their needs. You will define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid, dependable conclusions. WBS is a division of Tipmont that primarily serves small- or medium-sized businesses, as well as several larger operations. Duties that intrigue you include:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing IT systems, infrastructure, and workflows
• Identify inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement
• Develop strategic IT roadmaps and system architecture plans aligned with business goals
• Design and implement robust IT solutions including cloud migrations, virtualization, and pc upgrades
• Lead system integration projects, ensuring seamless interoperability between platforms
• Evaluate and enhance cybersecurity protocols, including firewalls, encryption, and access controls
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to internal IT staff
• Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and third-party service providers
• Meeting with clients to discuss their needs & provide expert advice
• Maintaining positive client relationships through excellent customer service
• Installing new solution systems & ensuring everything functions as intended
• Providing training and support to help customers adopt & use their new systems
• Defining the scope, budget and timeline of projects

Required Skills
  
  
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or a related field
  • Three to five years of experience in IT consulting, system integration and / or network management
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, cloud computing, networking, data storage and best practices in cybersecurity
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to provide innovative solutions to complex technical challenges
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative teamPreferred Skills
